Megabites - One day to eat ‘Geek Cakes’ for a good cause

Calling all sugar fiends, our good friend Miss Cakehead will be opening a one day only cake shop on Wednesday 9th November.

Popping up during the five-day parade of all things nerd, Internet Week Europe, Megabites offers the chance to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK whilst indulging in an array of delicious treats.

All cakes sold at the shop will be geek or Mac inspired and made by a range of seriously good bakers.

We’ve just started working with the NSPCC on an upcoming online campaign (we’ll reveal more later in the year). We’re thrilled to be associated with such an important charity that works every day to improve the lives of children in the UK.

For example the Metro newspaper is currently running a fundraising and awareness programme with the NSPCC highlighting the problem of of children suffering from sexual abuse and the need for increased therapeutic services.

They produced this infographic illustrating the statistics surrounding the scale of this problem and ways in which the NSPCC can help.

How you can help:

Simply text METRO to 70744 to give £4 today.

Your £4 could:

  • buy art materials, enabling children to better express themselves during therapy sessions
  • answer a call to ChildLine from a child suffering from sexual abuse who has gained the confidence to ask for help
  • help the NSPCC fund services such as these therapy centres for the victims of sexual abuse or other services like the NSPCC Helpline

From the frontline to Glasto, 24 hours inside WaterAid

This Tuesday, WaterAid is giving supporters a chance to experience a day in the life of an international charity!

For a 24 hour period, the WaterAid UK, USA and Australian Twitter feeds will be sending live reports on everything from the charity’s Glasto preparations, to water point mapping in Ethiopia to the less glamorous but no less essential back office services at HQ.

You can follow the live updates on the day with the #WaterAid24 hashtag, or on any of the three international Twitter feeds.

Rabbit is once again very excited to be helping WaterAid tell the online world about the fantastic work that the charity supports.
