On Wednesday 15 February, we were privileged enough to play host to a London Social Media Week event here at the warren.
The purpose of the session – chaired by Hassan Mirza - was to discuss the various ways artists can use social media to promote themselves, involve people in their projects and even refine their creative processes.

Fancy a Winter break in Marrakech, or have you always wanted to see the Golden Temple in Amritsar?
Rabbit client British Midland International (bmi) is currently giving away 150 pairs of tickets to any bmi destination. Last week the promotion hit Belfast, Manchester and Edinburgh and today (23 Jan) it’s London’s turn.

AVG Antivirus (Client) has released its new Digital Diaries findings, which highlights pre-teen’s access to social media and parent’s own knowledge of their use.
AVG asked 4,000 parents in various countries about how their 10-13 year olds use the internet and it was found that most kids have reached “digital maturity” or “digital adulthood” by the time they are 11 years old.

Last week was London Cocktail Week, a coming together of some of the world’s best bartenders, brands and – of course – cocktails in celebration of the age old art of mixology and drink preparation.
Rabbit was in attendance with our client Drinkology, an online hub created by Pernod-Ricard for all those who work in the bar and drinks industry to swap recipes, learn about the history of their trade, talk to world renowned experts and advertise or apply for jobs.
Unless you’re a first time visitor to the site, you’ll know how enthusiastic we are about the mobile photo-sharing network Instagram, both personally and professionally.
As a result, we’re thrilled to support ‘My World Shared’, the UK’s first Instagram exhibition staged by Instragamers London.
Pics from the network are being exhibited at the East Gallery on Brick Lane (London) from 22-23 October.
If you are blogger or journalist and would like an invite to the preview on the 21st, email us - hello (at) therabbitagency.com
Update - My World Shared has since had coverage in Mashable and Metro to name a few!

If you subscribe to one of our newsletters or have been reading this tumblr, you’ll know that as an agency we’ve really embraced mobile photo-sharing network Instagram, both personally and for our clients.
Rabbits Bridey, Cat and bmibaby’s senior communications executive Naomi Bustin, went along to the social media marketing and monitoring conference organised by Our Social Times to show how Instagram is being used for bmibaby.
The slideshare presentation is attached above, any questions or if you would like more info, get in touch with us - hello (at) therabbitagency.com
We’re going monthly and themeing it
When we opened our doors in early 2010, one of the 1st things we did was to put together a newsletter that would give anyone who wanted to receive it a social-media related digest of stats, links and commentary.

UPDATE: You can now make a donation to WaterAid on our fundraising page. We’d be very grateful!
This week three of the Rabbits left the warren with a slightly unusual mission – write a massive hashtag into the sand of one of the UK’s most picturesque beaches.
(Dirk Rabbit writes): At Rabbit we do a lot of work in the aviation sector, so this chart from STELLAService (via TNW) interested me. It concerns the Twitter response times of the major US airlines during the recent disruptions around Hurricane Irene.

A few things about this chart:
The response times were to say the least very patchy. airTran didn’t respond at all. Others, which have in the past been lauded for their social media expertise also didn’t do so well.

Here at Rabbit, our love for Instagram is still growing. Dirk Rabbit recently confessed on his blog that Instagram is the 1st social network he checks every day, and for a lot of us at Rabbit, it is the same.
After all looking at beautiful images is a nice way to come round each day isn’t it!?
Another advantage of Instagram is that you get to share as part of a community - it really is the definition of social - with enticing content that draws you in, shows you another person’s visual life-stream and makes you want to share and be a part of it too.
Plus it is fun and helps you to connect with your creative side!
Last week we announced we are using Instagram in partnership with a number of clients. As part of that, we also launched the UK’s 1st airline Instagram promotion for bmibaby.
Having run for only one week, we are thrilled to share the news that #MiaItalia has received over 1000 entries so far.
