Parents - are you secretly accessing your teen’s Facebook page?

According to the fifth AVG Digital Diaries study by Internet security company AVG, they are.    In the UK, over 4/10 access a teenage child’s Facebook account without them knowing, in the US it is even over 6/10.

These issues and more were discussed last week at an event in London, attended by media lawyer Steve Kunciewiz and Facebook’s UK director of public policy Simon Milner, and moderated by AVG’s Tony Anscombe.

Digital Diaries: Is your pre-teen a ‘digital adult’?

AVG Antivirus (Client) has released its new Digital Diaries findings, which highlights pre-teen’s access to social media and parent’s own knowledge of their use.

AVG asked 4,000 parents in various countries about how their 10-13 year olds use the internet and it was found that most kids have reached “digital maturity” or “digital adulthood” by the time they are 11 years old.

If you subscribe to one of our newsletters or have been reading this tumblr, you’ll know that as an agency we’ve really embraced mobile photo-sharing network Instagram, both personally and for our clients.

Rabbits Bridey, Cat and bmibaby’s senior communications executive Naomi Bustin, went along to the social media marketing and monitoring conference organised by Our Social Times to show how Instagram is being used for bmibaby.

The slideshare presentation is attached above, any questions or if you would like more info, get in touch with us - hello (at) therabbitagency.com

#miaitalia - bringing Italy to life x 1000`

Here at Rabbit, our love for Instagram is still growing.  Dirk Rabbit recently confessed on his blog that Instagram is the 1st social network he checks every day, and for a lot of us at Rabbit, it is the same.

After all looking at beautiful images is a nice way to come round each day isn’t it!?

Another advantage of Instagram is that you get to share as part of a community - it really is the definition of social - with enticing content that draws you in, shows you another person’s visual life-stream and makes you want to share and be a part of it too.

Plus it is fun and helps you to connect with your creative side!

Last week we announced we are using Instagram in partnership with a number of clients.   As part of that, we also launched the UK’s 1st airline Instagram promotion for bmibaby.

Having run for only one week, we are thrilled to share the news that #MiaItalia has received over 1000 entries so far.

The Rabbit Feed - sites we loved at SXSW

Every week we produce a newsletter, The Rabbit Feed, capturing social media trends, stats and news that caught our eye  (to subscribe and have it delivered by email, click here).

We’ve included the latest one below, which follows Bridey, Cat and Dirk’s visit to the SXSW Interactive Festival in Austin (Texas).

In it, we’ve highlighted various social networks, some newer than others, that we liked while out there.
