Rabbit Manners

In April 2011 Rabbit was granted the Worldblu award and added to the list of most democratic workplaces in the world.

In order to formalise our position, we drafted a charter for our fellow Rabbits, our clients and our suppliers. We call this ‘Rabbit Manners’, and it is at the root of our way of doing business.

Rabbit Manners is not a fixed document it evolves as Rabbit evolves to adapt to our ethics and the changing nature of our business.

1. We are open about the way we work with all members of the team. We encourage contribution at all levels and discuss how to proceed together.

2. We aspire to be transparent about where we stand financially. Big decisions which affect the company are discussed with all members of the team and opportunity to contribute is always given.

3. Top-level discussions and decision-making meetings are open to all members of the team. We are as transparent as is logistically possible.

4. Regular meetings are held to ensure awareness and communication amongst the team. During these meetings, no subject is off the agenda and all are encouraged to contribute.

1. We provide flexible working for all members of the team. Opportunity to work from home where appropriate is available, as are flexible working hours.

2. If any team member feels harassed, bullied or discriminated against during the course of their work either by another member of the team, supplier or client, then systems are in place for them to seek redress. Once alerted to any breach, then we decide collectively (where appropriate) how to proceed.

3. We encourage a healthy, varied working environment for all team members. Opportunity for each member of the team to contribute to all projects is welcomed.

4. Where a team member feels they lack skills or experience, all is done to ensure that member of the team gains the qualifications either from other members of the team or externally.

1. We have an ethical client policy which allows our team to be vocal about any client they believe breaches our ethical code.

2. We have a democratic hiring process which gives team members the opportunity to meet with any prospective hires to asses them and say whether they join.

1. We have a hierarchy of experience but not ideas.  Some of us have been doing this job longer than others, which is taken into account, but everyone - whether they have been in the job one month or ten years, has the ability to come up with good ideas.

2. Each team member is encouraged to develop their own career within Rabbit and as a company we both support and nurture this. We foster a workplace based on respect for one another.

3. We share our knowledge. We ensure that we are continuously imparting our knowledge to our fellow colleagues. This works in all directions.

4. Wherever possible we will choose the option that has the least environmental impact.

5. We will work pro bono for organisations which we deem to deserve our time, knowledge and expertise for free. This is integrated into our business ethic and is important to our work flow.

1. We foster an environment of respect for one another and this is replicated with our client interactions.

2. We maintain a responsible business practice and we won’t use our personal online accounts as a vehicle for client work unless out of choice from the individual Rabbits and where there is full disclosure

3. We will not resort to any unethical processes in campaigns. This includes; astroturfing, trolling, poll fixing, spamming, false editing or exploiting sensitive issues.

4. We believe in fair pricing. We strive to be extremely competitive, but ‘brief creep’ where extra Rabbit time is diverted to projects is not fair on our other clients. We similarly believe that the same philosophy should be extended to any supplier we work with

5. We are committed to maintaining the highest standard of client confidentiality
