If you’re interested in the rise of photo-sharing networks such as Instagram, then this 15 minute interview between Techcrunch’s Alexia Tsotis, and the Instagram founders is well worth sitting through.
The headline - in just six months, the service has racked up three million users. To put that into perspective, the leader in location based services, Foursquare, took around eighteen months to hit that point (and is now on around 7.5 million).
And brands are moving in too. For example, US radio network NPR started running an Instagram stream at the end of last year, prompting Mashable to question whether Instagram is the next “distribution opportunity for news media.”
Meanwhile with 13,000 followers, Burberry has an #artofthetrench campaign up and running through Instagram to build brand awareness.
