February 29 will be remembered as more than just a leap year in 2012, it was also the day Facebook switched on Timeline for brands.
Following the trickled success of Timeline for personal profiles, Facebook has given page admins the option to upgrade their page to embrace Timeline and give their brand a fuller profile on Facebook.

Congratulations to the bmibaby team for picking up the innovation in travel and leisure award from econsultancy last night!
This is the result of the on-going myeurope Instagram campaign, which has seen 25,000+ pieces of user generated content being uploaded.
This is a phenomenal response rate for an online campaign, especially for one where users actively have to participate by creating, uploading and tagging an image.
If you are into photo edit challenges, check out this one from client British Midland International.
To coincide with its spring sale, for the next nine days, we will be posting a destination image from the @flybmi feed with an invitation to edit on Instagram. You can edit one or you can edit all nine, with the finalists being chosen next weekend.
The community will then vote, with the overall winner receiving a pair of return business class flights to one of the destinations.
Have a look at the 1st image, from Agadir, edit away and good luck!

On Wednesday 15 February, we were privileged enough to play host to a London Social Media Week event here at the warren.
The purpose of the session – chaired by Hassan Mirza - was to discuss the various ways artists can use social media to promote themselves, involve people in their projects and even refine their creative processes.

Some superb news to round off the week, Rabbit campaigns have been short-listed three times for the Revolution Awards - best travel campaign (bmibaby), best use of online PR (bmibaby) and best use of social media (Gatwick).
One of the first resources we created when starting Rabbit in early 2010 was a list of 20 free social media evaluation tools.
Not measurement, evaluation. Tools that will give you some form of meaningful data that you can use in reports. And ones that don’t cost anything.
Fast forward almost two years and a lot of that list is out of date, with many of the originals no longer being around or having ‘upgraded’ to full paid for services. As a result, it’s time for a refresh.

Fancy a Winter break in Marrakech, or have you always wanted to see the Golden Temple in Amritsar?
Rabbit client British Midland International (bmi) is currently giving away 150 pairs of tickets to any bmi destination. Last week the promotion hit Belfast, Manchester and Edinburgh and today (23 Jan) it’s London’s turn.

What’s a #sneakycommutershot or #powerlineporn? They are both Instagram hash-tags.
The former describes taking pictures of other bus, train or tube passengers without them knowing. Meanwhile #powerlineporn has nothing to do with porn and everything to do with power line photography.
These are just some of the themes Rabbit Dirk explores in an article on Instagram sub-culture for The Wall. Read it here.

During the Christmas period Rabbit client, Gatwick Airport, thought of a unique way to entertain passengers as they travelled through the airport on their way home.
Welcome to ‘The Snow Tube’. For a small donation passengers could grab a giant rubber ring and slide down a huge faux-ice slope!
Over the past 2-3 years, there has definitely been greater awareness about the need to integrate social media into marketing campaigns. It’s why agencies such as ourselves exist.
At the same time, as a relatively new discipline, there are still a lot of questions around how a piece of social media activity can directly impact the bottom line.
